Our moonlight horseback rides have been some of our most popular events over the years, so we are expanding the experience to include supper, entertainment, and an overnight stay. Don't miss the opportunity to participate in this unique Flint Hills experience.
What Is Included
Guests will join us for a campfire supper at the Chuckwagon prepared by Chef Josh Hoy. The supper will be followed with entertainment by Jim Hoy. Jim is a Professor of Folklore and History at Emporia State University. He is also the director of the Center for Great Plains Studies. He will sing traditional cowboy songs and tell stories about the Flint Hills and cowboy culture. As the full moon is rising, we will saddle up horses and head out into the Flint Hills. The guided ride will be an hour and a half to two hours long. After the ride, enjoy the campfire, moon and beautiful Flint Hills sky before retiring for the evening in one of our Lodging facilities.
Moonlight Ride Price
Adults: $275 / person + applicable tax
Youth (5-17): $230 / person + applicable tax
Includes supper, entertainment, horse and tack, guided moonlight ride, campfire, and lodging.
Time: Approximately 2 hour ride
Location: Flying W Guest Ranch - Bunkhouse

We have wide variety of lodging available for your stay from small and intimate (good for couples) to large and spacious (good for larger groups). Please take a look at the options available, however, there are no guarantees the requested facility will be available ... "first come first served". The evening before the drive is included in the price. If you would like to stay additional evenings, please make the request when making your reservation.
