The Flying H Ranch is owned and operated by Jim and Cathy Hoy, parents of Josh Hoy of the Flying W Ranch. In addition to providing respite for their own guests, their ranch often serves as 'over-flow' accommodations for activities at the Flying W Ranch.
700-acre ranch located on the Walnut River in the heart of the Flint Hills a mile and a half from Cassoday. The one-story ranch-style house was built in 1945 on the site of the original Hoy homestead, which was settled by William and Mary Ann Hoy in 1877. The house has been updated recently while retaining some aspects of the 1940s period in which it was built. This is a tranquil setting surrounded by acres of tallgrass prairie and woodlands. There are quiet country roads suitable for hiking, walking, running, and biking. The meadows and woods offer opportunities for bird and butterfly watching, photography, wild flowering, and observing nature in each season. The house has a comfortable kitchen and dining area, and the living room/library provides areas for family members to find an area to write, watch tv, play games, work on projects, read, or just relax.
