Gwen and Josh, thank you for a most memorable weekend. For years I had hoped to find a perfect spot in the gorgeous Flint Hills and I found what I had been wishing. The horse back riding was most pleasant ...vistas, horses, Possum, Pepper, and Mae (3 dogs), nature, and scenery. The food was delicious...especially the home made peach cobler and homemade vanilla ice cream! One of our party saved some for an early breakfast...lucky guy. We would be delighted to return to your comfortable well decorated lovely cabin any day.

Again, thank you both for taking us out riding sharing the vistas and the long horn cattle. We were most fortunate to be able to experience a part of our American heritage.

Gwen, Josh, Anne and everyone else: thank you so much for a brilliant weekend with the British crowd! Learnt a lot, rode a lot, and hopefully we worked hard and usefully for you. Great accommodation, really nice food, varied activities and a lovely area to explore. Best wishes for the future; we'll pass our experiences on.

My 10 girlfriends & I had the most amazing weekend on Mother's Day 2013. I almost don't want to share how awesome this place is in fear of too many "competitors" for future trips. BUT Josh & Gwen are very special people, and the Flying W Ranch is a one of a kind experience.
If you love to ride horses in fields of rolling pasture as far as the eye can see, if you love to see herds of cattle and longhorns while riding in those fields, if you love the intimacy of having the place to yourself with furnishings that are only top shelf, and if you love to see the sky full of a billion stars - the Flying W is the one and the only place for you! Enjoy yourself if you are lucky enough to get there.

Had a great time in spite of the weather on the May 4 drive. We've already made plans to return next spring for another.

Gwen & Josh,
Thanks so much for a wonderful experience at the 2013 burn. My entire family enjoyed the activity, including the great steak dinner and tasty breakfast. What a relaxing way to learn about our grasslands. The bunkhouse was very cozy, we all slept well. We can't wait for next year. Thanks for sharing the flying W with us!

Had the best birthday ever on an amazing ride Sept. 21! Gwen and Josh are so gracious and knowledgeable on the history of the area. Thank you so much for sharing your land and horses! And the yummy cookies!

Spent a few days last August at the ranch and it was so amazing! Very quiet and peaceful..spent a 1/2 day riding and rounding up cattle with Gwen and Josh and their daughter. Have been trying to get back there again to escape the real world. Accommdations
were fantastic and I have been raving about the ranch to everyone at work and my family.

I've stayed overnight once with a friend and loved the quiet and the sunrise with a longhorn silhouetted against the sunrise. Later, I did a half-day "cowboy experience" on horseback with my daughter (riding the Flint Hills was on my "bucket list."). I
must say the horseback experience was the most fun I've had on a horse -- and I used to ride all the time! Even for an oldie like me whose body hurt after 2 hours in the saddle, it was WORTH IT! We pushed a herd from one pasture to another, and actually doing
something while riding made it so very interesting. Hats off to the Flying W!

We had our family reunion there in July 2012 but I had stayed there before with my horse and loved it. My extended family had there doubts about the place, we hadn't had a family reunion in 7 years, but after having it there they all wanted to get together
again next year at the Flying W again

As a travel writer on assignment to Persimmon Hill Magazine, the official publication of the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, I experienced the Hoy's gracious hospitality. What a great place! The sunset wagon ride was a real highlight! In my job, I'm always on to the next assignment -- this is one place I'd love to return to just for me!

Our family of 6 siblings and spouses celebrated our dad's 100th birthday with a trip to the Flint Hills and Flying W. We enjoyed the buckboard ride and the meal was delicious. Sitting on the porch in the rain was ever so relaxing and enjoyable. Everyone
has commented that this was the best trip we have taken. Thanks Flying W. The GMT Nickelsons

I stayed at the ranch with a great group of artists. It was so much fun to just be able to go out and paint and not worry about our cooking (they provided us with delicious meals.) The beds were so comfy. I will definitely return.

Ken and I, plus the boys (our horses)spent three days at the Flying W Ranch. We included the Rodeo as part of our entertainment. While there we took 3 very distinctly differnt rides, all starting from the bunkhouse. The boys got to make some new friends
down at the pens. Food was fantastic. We hope to return with friends this coming year.

I and about 15 others came to the ranch for a painting workshop. The accomodations were perfect and the food was sooo good! I wish I'd had time to ride. It's a wonderful way to become acquainted with the Flint Hills as well as to get away from it all.
Very peaceful.

Enjoyed the Dream Ride held at the ranch in 2010. Enjoyed visiting with old and new friends.

Rode last year with our group High Plains Paso Fino Horse Association and we had so much fun we scheduled our ride at Flying W again. Food was excellent and Jim Hoy was great at storytelling during dinner. The weather was great and the riding was great!

July 5-7, 2012 - What an awesome experience. Riding the pastures, sorting the cattle, walking with my kids through the tallgrass (or not so tall this summer) prairie, and enjoying the peaceful beauty of the Flint Hills. Thank you so much.
