Join us for our 2017 Bringing Home the Remuda on March 18th.
This is one of our favorite days of the year. Our 50 plus herd of horses, the Remuda, need to make the journey back to headquarters from their winter pasture. It is approximately 12 miles. Horses can be a bit more difficult and dangerous to drive than cattle, so riders must be experienced. Ranch owners and hosts, Josh, Gwen, and Josie Hoy, will guide this unique event and feed you a hearty lunch on the trail.
Bringing Home the Remuda Cost: $250/pp *
This includes breakfast, horse, tack, guided drive, lots of stories (most of them true) and lunch.
Level of Experience: Experienced riders only.
What to Bring: Closed toed shoes or boots, long pants or jeans, sunscreen, and water bottle. Seasonably appropriate attire – jackets are good any time of year. For winter and early spring drives, one can’t bring too much warm clothing.
Number of Guests: Limited to 10
* Optional Ride: +$100/pp
For those interested in a bit more time in the saddle, here is the option for you. We will mount up at the ranch and ride to the pasture where the horses are wintering. This will add 3 hours of riding time and provide you an opportunity to get to know your horse before we start driving home the remuda. Snacks and drinks will be provided between the ride and the drive.
We have lodging available for you to stay in the night before or after the Drive. You will receive a 5% discount on the Drive and Lodging if you arrange to stay in our lodging before and/or after the Cattle Drive.
Please make arrangements in advance.
